......, I was having an eMail exchange with talented country newcomer DiAnne Foxx concerning her very worthy album "Tainted Rose."  HonkyTonkinMusic (conveniently located--I'd wager--in beautiful downtown Telephone, Texas--I am NOT  making this up) sells "Tainted Rose," which its online catalog describes thusly:

"FOXX has a sound that's very identifiable. Once you're acquainted with her vocally, you're not likely to forget what you've heard, unlike most of the current crop in today's country music. Recorded in Nashville and accompanied by some of the best musicians in Music City including fiddle, steel, lead guitars, piano FOXX has recorded ten original tracks. Spotlight cuts include TAINTED ROSE, HONKY TONK MAN (not the JOHNNY HORTON hit), SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER, DR. JIM, & BARTENDER'S BLUES. RECOMMENDED. DFCD...."

The point of all this is that three relatively knowledgeable sources--HonkyTonkinMusic,  the very photogenic Dianne Foxx herself and the decidedly non-photogenic, but cuddly TRR™ typist--all agree: this is country music from an artist with a lot of promise.

The All Music Guide has decided, nonetheless, that Ms. Foxx is a Rock artist.  It's fun, I guess, to try to imagine the look on a rock fan's puss when their parent sticks their head in on the initial playing of "Tainted Rose" to say, "Turn this up a little, OK?  Your taste is  really improving," but it's way off base and that's a bad deal all the way around.  So, she made contact to correct the error and she got exactly nowhere."  Please see notation below*
